Land Data has opened its 2024 Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence and is asking conveyancers to nominate local authority Local Land Charges teams in England and Wales that have delivered a consistently high level of customer service over the past year.
Nominate the team that has impressed you most and tell us about the speed of searches, the level of accuracy, the can-do approach of the team and how their high level of customer service positively impacts on your day-to-day work. There are three customer satisfaction awards – one for district councils, one for metropolitan councils and one for unitary councils.
Click here to nominate a local land charges team via our online form. It doesn’t take long to complete – and as a thank you for your time, you will be entered into a prize draw to win M&S vouchers worth £50.
The closing date for entries is 15th December 2023.
Speed of search turnarounds is of critical importance to all house purchases and a key measure of customer service. According to NLIS Hub figures for September 2023, 82% of Local Authorities in England and Wales take 10 days or less to return searches, the target set by Government. Many searches are turned around in a day or two.
Hillingdon Council won a Customer Service Award in 2023. Sacha Bailey, Planning and Regeneration Operations Manager, said:
“Winning the Customer Satisfaction Award has given the whole team a boost, especially as our customers had to nominate us for this category. We know that we really care about our work and delivering excellent service, but to have it recognised and validated feels amazing. It shows that all the effort we put into providing a great service is really worthwhile. It has also put Local Land Charges in the spotlight as many people didn’t know who we were or what we did!”
Sponsoring this Award category for the sixth year running, Andrew Simpson, Head of Innovation Business Development, the Coal Authority said: “At the Coal Authority we understand the importance of excellent customer service and the benefits it brings to relationships, performance and morale – for both our teams and for our customers. Actively listening to customers, understanding their needs and responding swiftly, efficiently, with positivity and professionalism is an essential aspect of our business at the Coal Authority, and we are delighted to support this Award.”
The Awards will be presented on 4th March 2024 at the Local Land Charges Training and Development Event.
