IRIS Legal has hired experienced new business professional, Rob Carling, to develop the IRIS Law Business (ILB) customer base in the in-house sector.
IRIS Legal is targeting in-house legal departments in response to the growth in the number of companies appointing in-house lawyers. Almost one in three qualified solicitors now work outside of a law firm and most of those work in-house, according to IRIS Legal.
Mr Carling has been appointed to spearhead new business opportunities in this sector. He previously worked for ten years in business development for Landmark Information Group, the UK’s leading supplier of business information to the legal and property markets.
Doug Hargrove, managing director of IRIS Legal, said: “Rob’s appointment strengthens our commitment to the expanding in-house market. In-house solicitors are one of the largest growth sectors in the legal market. The key for us in 2013 is to continue to deliver innovative, integrated solutions and services to all legal professionals, irrespective of the sector in which they operate, empowering them to be more successful and profitable and to differentiate themselves in a changing and competitive legal market. We already have a strong presence in the in-house sector and are looking to leverage our expertise to expand our reach further and be recognised as the technology partner of choice for in-house legal practitioners in any commercial, public sector or not-for-profit organisation.”
Rob Carling, new business consultant at IRIS Legal, added: “I am delighted to be joining IRIS Legal at such an exciting time. The business has been performing extremely well, with all key metrics moving in the right direction; customer retention is at an all-time high and more customers are choosing to stay with the business and invest in its next generation offerings over competitor products, ensuring a long term commitment. I’m excited by the challenge ahead to engage with in-house legal practitioners across all sectors to demonstrate how our products can make life simpler and more efficient for them.”
