IRIS Legal continues its plan to dominate the next generation of Chambers software with the release of IRIS Meridian Law Connected (MLC) 3.1.
This release follows the success of IRIS MLC 3.0 which was widely received as one of the best updates of the software. IRIS MLC 3.1 adds further core functionality and enables barristers to comply with new standards, introduced by the Bar Standards Board (BSB) on 31st January 2013, concerning Standard Contractual Terms. These standards aim to modernise the way solicitors refer work to barristers.
IRIS MLC 3.1 will make it easy to manage the contractual terms between barristers and solicitors. Features include contract administration, reporting and status tracking, multiple contract handling, automation of contract administration as well as a default contract terms document that Chambers can adapt to suit their own needs.
IRIS MLC 3.1 will also provide business management tools to help maximise clerk and barrister efficiency, monitor business performance in real-time and streamline business processes to deliver improved customer service, better client retention and greater revenue growth.
Further enhancements to IRIS MLC 3.1 include the introduction of improved end-to-end usability including predictive search functionality and smoother navigation and the introduction of mobile time recording to enable barristers to track time while on the move or away from their desk.
IRIS Legal currently has more than 220 barrister customers including notable recent wins St Phillips Chambers and No 5 Chambers.
Jitendra Valera, Chief Marketing Officer at IRIS Legal, said: “Our new release is simpler to use and helps introduce best practice standards within chambers. IRIS MLC 3.1 gives barristers the insight they need to make key strategic business decisions. We’re passionate about developing products that make life easier and more profitable for barristers, clerks and support staff.
“We’re confident that IRIS MLC 3.1 goes far beyond anything else ever seen in the market. IRIS Legal will continue to improve standards and drive the market forward where barristers are concerned.”
Martin Parker, Senior Clerk at Tooks Chambers, added: “The contractual terms functionality is clearly thought through and delivers precisely what we need.”
