New lender launches first panel limited to Conveyancing Association firms
Monday, 23 February 2015A new buy-to-let lender, Fleet Mortgages, has created the first law firm panel made up only of members of the Conveyancing Association. CA chairman Eddie Goldsmith said he had held talks with others about a similar move.

2,700 firms sign up for Lender Exchange
Wednesday, 15 October 2014More than 2,700 law firms have signed up for Lender Exchange, a website which stores information about conveyancing panel firms for mortgage lenders. However, negotiations with the Law Society over a relationship with the Conveyancing Quality Scheme have stalled.

Law Society's wills quality scheme launched with warning over falling market share

Law Society mulls levy on CQS firms to fund advertising campaign

SRA: evidence contradicts “popular myth” that conveyancing is low-value work
Thursday, 14 February 2013The “popular myth” that conveyancing is low value is not borne out by the evidence, the Solicitors Regulation Authority has found. But property work is continuing to cause the regulator problems, with stamp duty land tax schemes and ‘right to buy’ negligence litigation firmly on its radar.

SRA mulls making firms that want to hold client money seek permission

Home-buyers have little interest in conveyancing from brand names, says survey

“External capital can bring nothing to the party” in conveyancing
