Reviewer warns of risk that public will see SRA as biased in favour of solicitors
Tuesday, 19 January 2016There is a “real risk” that members of the public will view the Solicitors Regulation Authority as “simply preferring the word of solicitors”, its independent review body has concluded. The Independent Complaint Resolution Service called for a review of compensation claim fund claims.

Major survey finds consumers increasingly satisfied with their lawyers
Tuesday, 17 November 2015There are positive signs about improving consumer satisfaction with how they find, compare and then use law firms, major research by the Legal Services Consumer Panel has revealed. However, the panel said more vulnerable consumers “are potentially being left behind as those more empowered are able to take advantage of market changes”.

Law Society extends consumer campaign by nine months after web traffic surge
Tuesday, 14 April 2015The Law Society has extended its consumer campaign promoting solicitors until the end of October this year, after an increase in traffic to the society’s ‘Find a Solicitor’ website of 18.5% in only four months.

Fewer than one in ten people with legal problems see a lawyer, major study finds
