Co-op undeterred despite £3.4m loss by legal services business
Thursday, 29 August 2013Co-operative Legal Services has revealed losses of £3.4m for the first half of 2013, which its parent group said reflected “the start-up nature of the business”. But The Co-operative Group affirmed its intention to “continue with our plans to develop this growing business”.

Co-op distances itself from claim that good client service is “alien to solicitors”

Co-op goes face-to-face with nationwide family legal aid service

Number of private practice solicitors falls for first time as Law Society warns of ABS threat

A new legal service market assessment by the Law Society also warned that that a small number of successful ABSs could radically reshape the market for high street legal services.

Leading ABS set to open up entry to the law through 'Learning Academy'

Ombudsman prepares for ABSs after Parliament approves rule changes

Co-op blanks QualitySolicitors criticism but claims its presence will benefit all lawyers
